He is now at rest in Arlington
Picture taken on weekend in Seoul.
At the time he was a Sergeant serving in 2nd Infantry Division
up near the DMZ. I was posted in Seoul at Eighth Army Headquarters (also joint
UN/CFC/USFK) in G-3 Operations Division (Education and Training Branch).
He previously had
jumped into Panama, helping capture General Manuel Noriega in
1989. He was wounded in action having jumped with the 1st Bn, 504
PIR at midnight to help capture and occupy the airfield.
He then parachuted into
combat and served in the same unit in the first Gulf War.
He served his country
honorably, and I miss him every single day.
